Author: Amadeus von Fridleben / Friedleben was the pseudonym for Johann Christoph Beer (1638 - 1712) who was a German author. He also used the pseudonym Alamodus Pichelhering. We found an engraver/etcher associated with this work to be Hipschman, whose name is on one of the plates. Possibly Sigmund Gabriel Hipschmann 1639-? Who was a German painter and engraver from Nurenberg.A Dutch historic scene (numbered 140), probably c. 1673, with a figure on skates held back when he approaches another man being drowned in the ice. Paper edges a bit chipped at left from binding. Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 7.3 x 14 cm.
