C1890 German Sitzendorf Porcelain Rare Ice Skating Figural Candlestick Holders

  
This listing is for an antique, circa 1890, German Sitzendorf porcelain rare pair of figural ice skating candlestick holders. They measure 12 1/2 inches or 31.5 cm high, and are 4 inches or 10 cm in diameter across the bottom. These beautiful and rare pair of ice skating figures are standing in a outside setting. They wear winter clothes, hats, and the woman carries a hand muff and on both their feet are a pair of ice skates. The candle cups rise up behind the figures with a floral and foliate bobeche.

They are all hand painted with excellent attention to detail throughout, and applied porcelain flowers around their feet. The candle sticks are signed on verso with a crossed lines of Sitzendorf that was used in the late 19th century. The gentleman has a chip on the left leaf candle stem and pinky finger and one candle cup bobeche tip has an old repair. The woman has a leaf chip and a chip on the flowers on the base.
